Kirkwood Kindergarten Teachers and Kirkwood Public Library Host “Countdown to Kindergarten” for Area Children

Three Kirkwood School District kindergarten teachers—Jennifer McCoy and Kelly Renner of Keysor Elementary School and Amy Grady of Robinson Elementary School—joined with Sarah Erwin, children’s director of programs and youth services for Kirkwood Public Library, in hosting “Countdown to Kindergarten” on Aug. 16.
According to McCoy, who initiated the program, kindergarten students from throughout the Kirkwood community were invited to participate. About 20 children attended the event where they listened to stories about going to school and participated in various activities including art projects and a treasure hunt. Each child also enjoyed a snack.
