Keysor Wins Promising Practice Award
June 16, 2008
Keysor has been recognized as a 2008 Promising Practice Award winner from the Character Education Partnership for our work with the fifth grade Civil Rights Team. The Partnership gives annual awards for unique and specific exemplary practices that encourage the ethical, social, and academic growth of K–12 students through character education. Members of our Civil Rights Team pledge to have respect for people whose abilities, beliefs, culture, race, ideas or other characteristics are different from their own. Students and teachers explore issues of equity and social justice, working to understand and value others while examining and overcoming personal bias. Student leadership is critical to our school-wide efforts to ensure that all Keysor Kids feel safe and valued so they can learn and achieve to the best of their abilities. Watch for more information about this award in the coming months.
