Keysor Elementary School

Welcome to the new website for Keysor Elementary School. We believe our site should be useful to Keysor Kids, teachers, parents, and community members. We'll frequently make updates and additions, and we welcome your ideas.  We appreciate your interest in Keysor and your support of Keysor Kids.

We take pride in referring to our school community as a family – the Keysor Family, and we hope this year provides additional opportunities to strengthen bonds between school and home.  We appreciate your continued support of your child, our school, and our Keysor Kids.

I am occasionally asked to highlight “points of pride” about Keysor – items we want our community to know about the work we do with Keysor Kids and families. There are always a number of things we can celebrate – we’ve been a Missouri Top Ten School for MAP scores (2005) and more recently we’ve been recognized for our support of student behavior and our work with social justice.  We don’t rest on these accolades; we know we can and must always improve and our success stories will fluctuate from year to year.  But year-in and year-out, I am always most proud of our shared commitment to student achievement and our ongoing work to develop positive relationships among students and adults.  We want Keysor Kids to be good students and good people, working together to meet high expectations.

Close ties and open communication between school and home are clearly essential to our work. Whatever we do as teachers to guide, shape, and motivate children can only supplement the loving commitment, interest, and instruction you provide at home. As we engage in this worthwhile partnership, we thank you for your hard work and ask that you never underestimate the precious role you play in the success of your child.
