The Respectful School: How Educators and Student Can Conquer Hate and Harassment, by Stephen Wessler and William Preble
"You should join the Civil Rights Team because if you try hard enough, you can change the world because you gain knowledge and power." -Brandon, 2007-08 Member of CRT
"The reason I joined the Civil Rights Team was because I wanted to know more about Civil Rights. I learned it doesn't matter what color you are as long as you get along. I changed because the people at my old school did not like other people because of their skin, or how they acted, but when I got to this school I changed. I accept people for who they are." -D'Marco, 2007-08 Member of CRT
"The reason I joined the Civil Rights Team, was because many people in this school call each other mean names, or make fun of others. Once I joined, I gained allies, and respect. With that respect, I have to respect others. That's the same with the allies. If you want an ally you have to be one yourself. Joining the team comes with responsibility too. I gave my kindness and help to others, and I expect theirs in return. When you join, you WILL change! Not bad changes... small changes like not making fun of people. You will be kinder, and you will help others more. And so, we are passing the torch of leadership to you." -Kylie, 2007-08 Member of CRT at the Passing the Torch Ceremony
