The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, a nonprofit organization founded in 1920, is based upon the conviction that an educated citizenry is essential to a democracy. The Scholarship Foundation provides access to post-secondary education to members of our community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals. Volunteer opportunities exist at ScholarShop-Clayton and ScholarShop- Webster Groves (newly opened), upscale resale shops, the proceeds of which support the loan program.

The Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life is a nonpartisan, educational entity dedicated to helping women of all ages become active participants in the public policy process. Based at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the Institute offers a campaign school for women candidates and campaign workers, sponsors programs to facilitate the success of women in government, and provides leadership training for college women. In addition, the Institute maintains a unique “Talent Bank” database of women interested in service on public boards and commissions as a resource for local and state appointing authorities.
