Where am I?
KECC Service Projects
October 22nd, Hands On Kirkwood.
The past 3 classrooms at KECC have been hosting a day for our friends from Educare Head Start Program to come for a visit. During each visit we have noticed that the children loved the sandboxes at KECC. This year we wanted to surprise the children from Educare with a sandbox. On Saturday October 22nd, we had 7 families with their children and staff members from KECC arrive at Educare and go to work on building the best sand box ever! The supplies to construct the sandbox we made through a private donation and funds from KECC. The children here donated sand toys from their own play ground and a container. While the parents were constructing the sandbox and carry the many bags of sand. The children were busy with Ms. Lillian and Mr. Terry. This group of talented artist were in charge of making the poster for Educare children, families and staff. They left arrows for everyone to follow to the "surprise." The children and staff from Educare were very surprised on a Monday to see the new outside equipment.
Here are some of the children at KECC picking out some of their own sand toys to donate to their friends over at Educare.
