Laws of Life Essay Contest
All the KHS journalism students participated once again in the Laws of Life essay contest. The Laws of Life essay contest is a program that emphasizes reflection and writing. The contest encourages students to think about the people and experiences that have helped to shape their values. It challenges them to take a stand for what they believe in. The Glendale-Kirkwood Kiwanis helped judge the essays and then sponsored the top six award-winning essays. The winners chose a charity in which to donate their prize. These are this year’s winners:
Joe Weber who chose to donate to Therapeutic Horsemanship
Sean McWay who chose to donate to Our Little Haven
Lydia Mitchener who chose to donate to Alzheimer's Association
Maggie Hallam who chose to donate to Make-A-Wish Foundation of America
Alex Kuhn who chose to donate to Edgewood Children’s Center
Devan Coggan who chose to donate to To Write Love on Her Arms
