Science- General Information
Sixth Grade Science
We have a dynamic, engaging 6th grade science program at NKMS!
Our curriculum in sixth grade relates to the physical sciences.
Our units focus on force and motion, light, electricity, and chemistry.
All of our units involve hand-on, minds-on activities.
These activities will involve the scientific process and
enable students to better understand the unit objectives.
For each unit students will receive a note and activity packet.
This packet will contain information about the unit objectives, the activities we will do in class, and the material students will need to read and understand.
They need to bring these to class every day.
Unit objectives, formative quizzes, and rubrics are posted in the classroom.
Students will be able to access the science series materials on-line.
They will learn how to do this in class.
Textbooks are available to take home if students do not have on-line access,
or students are provided time in class or after school to use the on-line materials.
Graphing and measurement skills are incorporated throughout the four science units.
