Attendees: Betsy Green(New Digs), Andrea Zimmerman(New Digs, Greentree float), Ellen Kraichly, Donna Laudel(treasurer), Nancy Chappell, Kari Carmody(PTO co-pres), Amy Frost(PTO co-pres), Lisa Brown, Becky Edwards(e-blast), Dawn Buckley(volunteer coordinator), Holly Talir(cub scouts liaison), Ms. Sisul(principal), Marilee Mulvaney(Dine-out), Andrea Kipp(trivia night for kids)

Principals Report (Mrs. Jennifer Sisul)

  • Robinson 2011-2012 facts
    • 429 students currently enrolled at Robinson
    • 24% free/reduced lunch
    • 40% non-white students (embrace our diversity!)
    • 3 new teachers (music, gifted, 1st grade)
    • Anticipated opening date of the addition is start of school next year!
    • Want more informal conversations with parents.  Please share any ideas you have on how Ms. Sisul can connect with families.
      • Coffee here or outside of school, early or evening
      • Have received a small grant to work with kindergartners in Robinson who are at risk (Educare)
        • Looking for parent volunteer to sit on the panel

 

Treasurer’s Report (Donna Laudel)

  • Easy Street $3585 so far!  It’s not too late to participate!

 

E-Blast News (Becky Edwards)

  • PTO and Principal will have separate E-Blasts
  • PTO newsletter will go out on the 1st and 15th of the month
    • Send any articles to Becky Edwards with ‘Robinson’ in the title to becky@theedwards.org
      • Send pdf of flyers
      • If want text in article box can add to body of e-mail        
      • Please send 2 days before due
  • Will  send e-mail to the chairs detailing the information above

 

New Digs for Robinson Readers (Betsy Green/Andrea Zimmerman)

  • Goal is to raise money in different and creative ways
    • Mom’s night out
    • Back to school street party sandwich sales fundraiser (goal 200, sold 262)
    • Box tops
    • E-Script
    • Dine-out nights
    • Leave your print on Robinson fundraiser
    • Juice pouch collection
    • Anyone who would like to join this committee to raise $25K to furnish the new library, please contact Betsy Green or Andrea Zimmerman

 

Buzz Book and Trivia Night (Wendi Creely)

  • Looking for artwork for the Buzz Book cover
    • Ms. Sisul will send R with hard hat
    • First trivia night general committee meeting 9/26 7pm in the Robinson library
      • Event is on 1/28/2012, you are welcome even if you didn’t already sign up to volunteer

 

Marvelous Market (Dec 3) (Annette Day)

  • Contact Annette Day if you are interested in getting a table

 

Book Fair Sales Report (Mary Meihaus/Mary Ann Curtis)

  • Sold $7600 worth of books, $1600 going to new digs for Robinson!
  • Every teacher received a $17 gift card for a book.

 

Open Discussion

  • Trunk or Treat 10/30 4pm-Lisa Fioretti.  Location TBD
  • McAlister in Des Peres Dine Out fundraiser Thursday 9/29 from 4-8pm.  Robinson earns 15%
  • Jill Swearingen posts the Backpack Mail.  If you have a flyer to submit please contact Jill.
  • Possibly communicate sign up deadlines etc as the phone calls from the district/Ms. Sisul
  • Scripps Spelling B-Holly Talir
    • Nov kids get word lists to study
    • Jan/Feb written spelling tests
    • Can be fundraiser, pledge per each word student gets correct
    • Need to register by 10/17
