Please join us on Saturday, April 14th at 5:00 pm for the "Kirkwood Crawl", a fun-filled evening scavenging around the heart of "Our Town"! We will begin and end at Kirkwood Station Brewing Company, and in-between possibly learning more about the city and various landmarks than you imagined! We hope that you'll get in on the fun!!! What: This is an invitation for you and your grandchild
(or children) to spend an hour eating together
and learning about some of the work they do in
school. We will ask each child to make a lunch to
share with their grandparent. While eating
there will be a presentation about the unique
programs they participate in at North Kirkwood
Middle School.

Mark your calendars for our annual gala, Meet Us @ The Magic House, Thursday, April12th, 7:00-10:30 p.m. Invitations have been mailed to all families in the district, and tickets are $50 a person. Another way to sign up for this party is online on the Kirkwood Foundation page. There is a link on the attached which takes you directly to the online registration page.
The Foundation Board has decided to offer a “Fund a Grant” component to the evening. In addition to the annual grant of $1,500 from the Foundation this year, each elementary and middle school in the district will receive any funds raised through the “Fund a Grant” on April 12th! We have already heard back from most of your principals about how they would like to use additional funds raised. We will highlight these needs throughout the evening.
If you have a Facebook account, we need your help! In order promote the gala and future Foundation events, please “LIKE” theKirkwood School District Foundation and encourage all of your Kirkwood friends by sharing this on your wall to do the same. Mention the Magic House event and recommend that they check out the auction updates and raffle opportunities the next few weeks leading up to the big event.
Also, it is that time of the year when PTOs fill volunteer positions for next year. We would love it if you could be a Foundation Ambassador for your school. If not, please let your PTO president or volunteer coordinator for next year know. The job description will change a bit from years past. We are in the process of putting together a new branch of the Foundation Board called the Friends Board (or committee). The Board will consist of a couple Foundation Board members, an Ambassador from each school and chairs and a few committee members of our annual events (chili bowl and spring gala). The purpose of this Board will be to increase awareness of the fundraising efforts of the Foundation and to better serve as an alliance between the schools in the KSD and the KSD Foundation. We expect to meet 5-7 times during the school year. Please continue to serve as an Ambassador if this is something that you would like to be a part of next year.
