3.2  (CHAPTER 3 SECTION 2) Bar and Line Graphs

Bar graphs are a type of graph in which the lengths of bars are used to represent and compare date.  Line graphs are a type of graph in which points that represent data pairs are plotted using a horizontal and vertical axis and then connected using line segments.  Line graphs often show a change in data over time.

Step #1:  Complete the  chapter 3 section 2 test-out

IF YOU SCORED 80% (8/10) or HIGHER, SKIP TO STEP #5!!!!!!!!

Step #2:  Learn the lesson

Step #3:  Try these exercises

Step #4:  Retest-out

Step #5:  FIND THE BAR AND LINE GRAPHS ACTIVITY AND COMPLETE IT

3.3 (Chapter 3 section 3) Stem and Leaf Plots

A stem and leaf plot is a data display that helps you to see the way data are distributed.  You can use a stem and leaf plot to place data in increasing order

Step #1:  Complete the 3.3 (Chapter 3 section 3) test-out

IF YOU SCORE 80% (8/10) OR HIGHER SKIP TO STEP #5

Step #2:  Learn the lesson

Step #3:  Try these exercises

Step #4:  Retest out

Step #5:  Find the chapter 3:  Stem and Leaf Plots and complete it

3.4 Box and Whisker Plots   Ch 3 lesson 4

Box and whisker plots display data beneath a number line that represents the range of the data and helps to show how varied, or spread out, the data are. The display divides the ordered data into four parts using three points - the median, the upper quartile, and the lower quartile.

Step #1:  Test out of 3.4

If you score 80% or higher, skip to step #5

Step #2:  Learn the lesson

Step #3:  Try these exercises

Step #4:  Retest out of 3.4

Step #5:  Animations - Find the box and whisker animation

3.5  (CHAPTER 3 SECTION 5) Histogram

What are Histograms? Click here to find out.

As you can see, they look a lot like bar graphs except that the bars are touching and the bars represent a range of values, not just one value.

You can try playing around with one here to learn more.

Step #1:  Complete the  chapter 3 lesson 5 test-out

IF YOU SCORED 80% (8/10) or HIGHER, SKIP TO STEP #5!!!!!!!!
