Day 4 - Dividing Fractions and Mixed Numbers

Do you know how to divide 5/12 by 1/10 using reciprocals? If you think you do... try to test out at Step 4. If you don't begin with Step 1.

Step 1: Read the introduction to dividing fractions, then practice dividing fractions by clicking here. Complete at least 10 problems correctly. Show your work on scrap paper.

Step 2: Still not clicking??? Watch the "home tutor" for dividing fractions by clicking here and then selecting "home tutor", Chapter 5, Lesson 4, Learn the Lesson .

Step 3: Think you got it? Try some on your own
by clicking here and then selecting "home tutor", Chapter 5, Lesson 4, Try the Exercises.

Step 4: Try testing out by clicking here and then selecting "eworkbook", Chapter 5, Lesson 4 (Dividing Fractions).

If you do test out you may move on to Step 5.

If you do not test out try practicing some more by clicking here. Do steps 1-4 and when you get 5 correct in Step 4 (Workout) you can move on to Step 5.

It's Game time! Click here to practice dividing fractions. Play the game for at least 10 minutes. Show your work on scrap paper.

Conclusion: What is a reciprocal? How do you use it to divide fractions? If you can answer these questions, then you may move on out of the investigation. :)

Day 3 - Multiplying fractions and mixed numbers


Do you know what 1 1/2 of 2 3/4 pizzas is? If not, complete the steps below.

Step #1: Investigate multiplying fractions by clicking here. Complete the step #1 worksheet.

Step #2: Practice multiplying fractions by clicking here. Answer 10 correctly AND move on.

Step #3: How do you think you multiply mixed numbers together? Listen "learn the lesson" to learn more.

Step #4: Practice multiplying fractions and mixed numbers by completing "try these exercises".

Step #5:
TEST OUT of ch 5 section 3

if you test out you may start retake your ch 4 test

if you did NOT test out please practice 10 more problems by clicking here. Once you have completed these problems, you make retake your ch 4 test.

Day 2 - Adding and subtracting mixed numbers.....
Step #1: Review adding fractions here: adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Answer 5 correctly and move on.

Step #2: Review renaming improper fractions here: http://www.aaastudy.com/fra57cx3.htm. Answer 5 correctly and move on.

Step #3: Listen to the tutorial at "learn this lesson" by going here: @hometutor

Step #4: Practice adding and subtracting mixed numbers "try these exercises" by going here: @hometutor ch 5 section 2.

1) Go to classzone.com, select eworkbook, chapter 5, section 1. Complete it and print out the results and give to your teacher.
2) Complete 5.1 of your fractions project
3) AP work p. 18 #2-16 even, 17 and 19

Option B: Learn how to add and subtract fractions

1) Visit this fraction game on adding and subtracting fractions with like denomiators. Complete 10 correctly and move on.

2) Listen to the tutorial at @hometutor on adding and subtracting fractions.

3) Visit this site on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Complete 5 correctly and move on.

4) Visit and complete @ least 5 problems on classzone.com's animations ch 5 adding and subtracting fractions.

5) To test out of this learning goal by going to classzone.com, select section quizzes, chapter 5, section 1. Complete it and print out the results and give to your teacher.

6a) If you test out (at least 4/5 right):
complete 5.1 of your fractions project

6b) If you DON'T GET at least 4/5 problems right - see Miss G.

7) If time: start your homework: book p. 221-224 #3-69 x of 3, 52
