Where am I?

Scholarships

We believe it is important to reward success and support young emerging musicians because they are our future performance artist!

This year we were fortunate to award the following scholarships to Kirkwood R-7 music students to attend music camps, clinics, conferences, to improve their performance.

We received many applications this year, choosing the winners was difficult.
Their interest in music and commitment to excellence was evident in their applications and we expect them to be very successful!

All winners were excited to receive the scholarship and believe it will give them a great start in their musical education, and believe it will improve their music performance.

Kirkwood R-7 instrumental music students may apply for an A.I.M. Scholarship by completing the AIM Scholarship Application.

Audrey Alessi writes:

"Chamber music is one of the most important types of music a serious musician can study.  The close interactions between each member of the group and necessity of all individual parts puts more pressure on every musician to deeply study and learn their own part.

This summer, I was able to study quartet music amidst the beautiful scenery of southern Oregon for nearly three weeks through the Britt Festival String Quartet Academy.  With each of my visits to this academy, this summer being my second, I return to St. Louis with new insight about my instrument, my music and myself.

Thanks to support from AIM, I was able to study with the Arianna String Quartet and my peers from around the country.

AIM allows for Kirkwood musicians of all backgrounds and skills to pursue music without the restrictions of cost, which is a wonderful gift to our school and community.

The first time I received support from AIM for a music camp was in seventh grade, and their support has allowed me to learn so much since then."
