Activities:
- What is clothing? Why do you wear clothes? Where do you wear them? (body parts, inside/outside)
- Have your child help you sort the laundry (whose it is, type, color, etc.).
- What kinds of clothes do you wear in the winter/spring/summer/fall?
- Discuss where you might go to get different types of clothes (coats, swimming suit, etc.)
- Cut out pictures of clothing from a magazine. Ask your child to find a picture of something we wear on our feet, head, or hands.
- Put out clothing of various lengths. Which one is the longest/shortest? Have your child place them in order from longest to shortest.
- Make up some statements that are true and some that are false. For example, “To go swimming, I wear my mittens”/“If it’s cold out, I need a hat.” Have your child identify each as true or false.
