DESIGN THE BEDROOM OF YOUR DREAMS!!!!!
Imagine what the bedroom of your dreams would look like. NOW, you have the
chance to design it! Your parents are remodeling your home and they are
giving you the option to design the bedroom of your choice, within their
limited budget. You will be able to choose the colors designs and styles of
your walls, carpet, furniture and accessories! THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BE
CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!
Are you ready to recreate your 20.25 ft x 15.75 ft bedroom? This is what you will have to do to complete the task.
•Justify how many gallons of paint and how many square feet of carpeting you need to purchase based on the area of the floor and walls.
• You must purchase furniture, accessories and any electronics for your
bedroom within a $2000 to $10,000 budget
•The furniture you must purchase is a bed, mattress, bedspread, sheets, dressers (limit 2), alarm clock, desk, wall to wall carpeting, and paint for the walls
•If you have money left over within your budget you may then purchase a T.V.,
DVD, playstation and/or a stereo.
•Identify the items you have purchased, where you have purchased them from, the dimensions of the items (the items must all fit in your room) and their cost. You will determine the total excluding tax and final costs of your purchases. You will also identify how much money you have left over from the given budget, if any. All of this data will be recorded on a data
spreadsheet.
•Take the dimensions of the items purchased and create a scales drawing using a given scale of a bedroom. All items purchased must fit in the bedroom, leaving room to walk and move about the room.
