Hello!
I am so thrilled to be back in 5th grade at wonderful Westchester for another year! The beginning of a new school year is always an amazing and exciting time for me. I enjoy a fresh start, and love nothing more than getting to know new students and establishing a healthy community for the classroom. There will be so much learning and laughing this year as we learn about character and social development. In addition, our academic curriculum is interesting, fun, and challenging for all students. We will be focusing on our reading comprehension skills, and "digging deeper" into all kinds of texts. We will be exploring many authors and their writing styles, as well as working on our own craft. We will inquire about Earth systems, matter and energy, and physics through hands-on experimentation. We will enter the science fair! We will learn about how our country came to be, and the three groups (Ancient West Africans, Native Peoples, and Europeans) that influenced it greatly. We will learn many problem solving skills in multiplication, division, subtraction, fractions, decimals, number patterns, data, and so much more! I can't wait to dive in to it all!
